Break out your board to surf the swells on the longest tropical left in the world. We have partnered with a local surf shop to offer our guests great rental deals on all kinds of boards for all different skill levels.

Saltwater Fishing

Pavones is renowned for its world-class fishing! Golfo Dulce is home to many world records! Spend the day out on the water catching Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Wahoo, Roosterfish, Amberjack and Pargo, Red and Cubera Snapper. For the big game saltwater angler, the South Pacific offers the best Marlin fishing in Costa Rica.

Nature Lovers

Go for a walk to see all of the beautiful and exotic plants and animals that Pavones has to offer. Bird watching, wild cats, monkeys (Capuchen, Squirrel/Titi and Howlers), sloths, iguanas and so much more!

Beautiful Beaches

Go for a walk or soak up the sun on the sandy beach just 100 meters from your room. You can even take a walk over to the river mouth so dip your feet in the chilly water as it enters the ocean.

Mountain and Waterfall Hiking

Pavones is located at the base of a mountain that has several waterfalls within walking distance. Take the day and go explore!

Rio Claro Tubing

Rent a tube and go for a gentle river adventure down the Rio Claro (Clear River). Just take a short hike up the mountain float all the way back down to the beach.

Whale Watching

The warm waters of Golfo Dulce is a known breeding and birthing habitat for Pacific Humpback Whales from August to October. Golfo Dulce also is home to important resident and migratory communities of Bottlenose Dolphins, Spotted Dolphins, Spinner Dolphins, and the occasionally seen False Killer Whales. Go hangout by the beach to see if you can spot them!

Pavones has seven bars/restaurants located just several minutes from the cabinas. Grab some refreshing drinks and amazing food with the locals and talk about the swell. There are also several other delicious restaurants right outside of Pavones, just a 15-minute walk away.
